'Trinity' for police commish

Dear Editor,

It is time for the call of a police commissioner who can interface with the public to set an example and lead from the front when necessary. A commissioner that can command respect from the public and take the application of the law to its logical conclusion and in so doing rout out the endemic corruption.

We need to initiate the process for the most qualified, competent; an experienced person for this position who can elevate policing for the respect deserved throughout the Caribbean.

We have to begin the call for that person to appear from our midst. Jamaica, now more than ever, needs that process that defines who is best suited for the job beyond political persuasion. Someone who most of the people can respect.

It has to be a groundswell that the politicians cannot dare countermand. It is time. And I suggest that person to be Keith "Trinity" Gardener, if we can get beyond our unprofessional, schizophrenic, myopic, tribal, crab in the barrel mentality.
