More justice and love for the inner city

The recent happiness that has overtaken the tough inner-city community of Dunkirk is by no mistake; it is the result of much work going on without fanfare or publicity.

The picture with the minister of national security in the midst says a lot. It shows that this Government is not just about fighting crime and unleashing the police in these communities to kill, but to unity citizens for change.

That concept of making long-time partners into legally married couples is wonderful. It goes to show that change can be made for the better.

The ministers of justice and national security, in collaboration with the church, could never have come at a better time when things are on the improve; citizens are feeling much safer, business confidence is on a high, unemployment is in decline, and the church is now playing a more active roll in the social aspect of communities.

What I would love to see is that these marriages blossom so that others may see and know that change has come about because of unity. Long live all those involved.
