Dear Editor,
Every day it is with great pain that I observe the plight of street people, inclusive of the mentally ill. While on the street they are subject to abuse, hunger, sickness, and even death.
I am aware that there are organistions which work hard to help these vulnerable and ostracised people, however, some of these organisations are themselves challenged with resource constraints.
If we truly care for the poor and the vulnerable, I am asking the relevant government ministry and respective units to examine the plight of these our brothers and sisters and act promptly to address this long-standing problem.
