Dear Editor,
I think our political administration should focus on employment and income by making Jamaica a land of inventions, contributing to the prosperity of United States for example.
In this context, we should give priority to natural sciences and research in the allocation of our scarce resources and so relegate arts-related subjects to a lesser place in our institutions of learning.
Math has traditionally been classified as both art and science, but I don't think it is necessary to emphasise passing a public examination in math. Albert Einstein, who failed math, has demonstrated that fact. Indeed, I do not believe in public examinations, but in the average grade gained in a subject in school. One swallow does not a summer make.
