Dear Editor,
May God help the new Police Commissioner Dr Carl Williams to do the impossible, be fair and square in his dealings, and maintain the passion to see justice being done.
May the One who has supernatural power help him to confront the challenges with a brave heart and to do his utmost in weeding out corruption in the police force.
May God help him to bring a halt to the police brutality that makes good officers look bad.
I am hoping that as Dr Williams takes up his professional duties there will be a transformation in the police force and a great advancement over the murderers and criminals, the gangsters and the garrisons, so that the people of Jamaica will breathe a sigh of relief from the bondage of fear, trepidation and intimidation.
As a concerned citizen, I am asking the new commissioner to take note of some suggestions that I am making that I believe should be in the top ten of his duty list. I would like him to consult the minister of national security in order to carry out these important suggestions, effectively.
1) Cut down the powers of the enemies of Jamaica by mashing down the gun trade. It's urgent to get rid of all the illegal guns. Plan a strategy to clamp down on criminals who are terrorising people on the streets; robbing and killing them.
2) Decide what type of punishment will be given to cold-hearted murderers who are cutting off people's heads as if they are wild animals or they serve no purpose. Make wicked-hearted men feel the brutal pain.
Mr Commissioner, let us try to destroy the monsters and the enemies of Jamaica before they destroy us.
