Place for CHIKV in pantomime, Miss G

Barbara Gloudon has demonstrated an uncanny ability to communicate with all sorts of creatures near and far, good and evil, earthly and other-worldly.

Take CHIKV Mosqui and his crew. Instead of settling down and dying off, as they should be doing by now, they're flying up and down making a stinging nuisance of themselves, carrying on as if they own the place because 'dem hear everybody a chat bout dem and a run up-an-dung an a hide from dem. Not even 'puss and dog safe from dem'.

Mrs Gloudon, you have my permission to use this as part of the outline of the plot for the next pantomime, assuming CHIKV Mosqui failed to make it into Pantomime 2014. After all, he only made his entree onto the scene this past summer, when the pantomime folks would be well into rehearsals already.

But not to worry; CHIKV Mosqui and his crew will still be current this time next year. Because they heard that they have squatter rights, having been declared endemic to Jamaica by the 'Bigger Heads'.

So, dem born ya, on ya, and nah lef yah. No way, sah!

Sweet Jamaica, indeed.
