Shout-out for Melaine Walker

Dear Editor,

Melaine Walker is one of the finest female 400m hurdlers. I wish to make her know that there are people who have her on their minds and are praying for her and wishing her the best.

To date we don't know what is happening to this young lady, one of our best local heroines from out of the inner city, and it is important to follow up on her current state of mind as we were all aware that she was having some issues.

It's all good and well to be there for someone when he/she is on top, but it is even more important to be there when he/she is going through rough times.

It is very important that we throw in all the support we can to our own, as many of these stars are big influences in their communities, and keeping them focused is very important as their giving back to their communities, either by cash or kind, is a motivating factor to other talents in these areas. It tells a story of the quality people we are.

We are praying for you, wheel and come again, nothing is wrong when one falls or makes an error, what is sad is when you fall but fail to try again.

We are missing your fabulous smiles on the podium.
