Dear Editor,
I note with much displeasure the audacity of the unelected Lambert Brown, who sits in Parliament at the pleasure of the prime minister, to suggest a ban on protesting civil society members from sitting on public bodies -- a clear move to sanction those who dare to criticise the Government.
In other self-respecting societies he may not have been a worthy person to be selected to sit in the hallowed halls of Parliament.
Civil society and citizens have a vested interest in the preservation of our democracy and will remain vigilant and undeviating in our resolve to hold our leaders accountable and to preserve the integrity of public governance, despite the veiled threat of alienation from shallow quarters.
My unsolicited advice to the prime minister is that it's in her best interest that she muzzle Lambert Brown. With every bark from his mouth she loses political and social goodwill as reflected in the recent RJR/Don Anderson polls.
