Dear Editors,
It is interesting to note that the opinions section of the Observer is not only viewed as voices of grumblers, complainers, and even people who spit venom at different sectors of our government, and others who think they have almighty reasons to laud it over others as if they are above reproach.
These letters oftentimes express openmindedness, shock, anger, sympathy, wrath, outrage, heartfelt pleas, dismay, sorrow, and even thankfulness that happens on a daily basis, stirring lively and heated conversations on the streets, buses, workplaces, homes, and other settings.
This section is very informative and causes many loud guffaws, broad smiles and heads shaking in acknowledgement because they share the same sentiments.
I listened with keen interest to the news over the airwaves that the Government has decided to identify buildings to renovate and utilise for the homeless. Recently I expressed my views in the "dear editor" about this particular topic, I am pleased that it's not only being addressed but it is actually a live project now. I guess there are a few of our leaders who will read the Observer and pay keen attention. The simple suggestions from the people are like gold coins, too valuable to ignore.
I will say, like Thomas Jefferson "the care of human lives and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only object of good government".
