Dear Editor,
That the Jamaican society is permeated with indiscipline no one can deny. The high level of murders and other crimes of all sorts committed each year, and the resultant legislation to curb the trend are symptomatic of the big problem -- indiscipline.
It is obvious that the vast majority of people in this country are not satisfied with the justice system and so they confuse the universally respected Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) with the quality of justice coming out of too many of our courts in Jamaica. And that is why recent polls show that 60 per cent of the people want a referendum, while the Constitution does not ask for referendum as some other constitutions do.
Most of our people do not even know about the Constitution of Jamaica and that it is the supreme law of the land. Let our schools change this. I am sure our noble Minister of Education Ronald Thwaites will take action without delay.
