Dear Editor,
This letter serves to highlight the good deed performed by a driver of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company Greater Portmore #17 bus who diverted from his route to take my mother to the doctor at the Edgewater Medical Complex, as she was experiencing severe breathing problems. It happened on Friday, January 23, 2015 about 7:00 pm.
The passengers who played significant roles in ensuring she was well attended to while on the bus also cannot be overlooked. An extra special thank you to the lady who came off the bus and stayed at the doctor's office until I arrived. Sadly, I didn't get her name as I rushed to my mom's side when I got to the doctor's office. I want them to know that I am eternally grateful for their acts of kindness.
Because of this great kindness, my mother was able to see another day. She is currently hospitalised and doing much better. She had bags of grocery with her that also made it to the doctor's office that evening and I can say, on her behalf, a heartfelt thank-you to all who helped.
I just want to encourage us all to continue to live in love and to look out for each other. It could have been any one of us. Please extend my thanks to them.
