Dear Editor,
"He lives in the gullies of the city; he's the Blackheart Man. Even in the lonely parts of the country; he's the Blackheart Man, Blackheart Man. Got no friend, no home, no family; he's the Blackheart Man, the Blackheart Man." -- Bunny Wailer
As kids, we grew up hearing about this black heart man, a very serious fable. We were told that you must be careful of strangers who might walk up to you and invite you into their cars or homes. They can also be found in the lonely countryside or in the gullies. They might even show up at schools and parks, and then they would take your heart out. It brought fear to us every time we heard the name.
It is even more true today than it was 40 years ago, as these black heart men are ever more prevalent today in our society. With the unmerciful number of killings of our young, and old alike, we must now put in place measures to deal with these immoral, lawless, wicked, anarchistic, and corrupt creatures.
These types of crime tear out the belly of the nation as they are left unchecked. We feel uncared for as a nation. I remind our MPs that "to whom much is given, much is expected". You have been given the nation's trust to care for us. Do your jobs!
Mothers, pay close attention to your children. Teach them about "stranger danger" also how to scream for help if someone approaches.
"Tikya the Blackheart Man, children, I say, don't go near him, Tikya the Blackheart Man, children. For even lions fear him. Tikya the Blackheart Man." -- Bunny Wailer
