?Dear Editor,
The diaspora in North America and Europe is appalled at the treatment of St Ann South Western, especially the communities of Clarksonville, Aboukir, Cedar Valley, Fullerton Park, and the environs of the Dry Harbour Mountain, with regards to their potable water supply.
The situation, since last year, has become untenable. Too many times the communities face water crises. We have sent numerous communication to Member of Parliament Keith Walford informing of the situation and asking for intervention and assistance. Despite this, and the use of social media, our people continue to suffer.
The diaspora is indeed concerned that after 52 years of Independence water woes remain a distinguishable feature of local communities.
After three MPs and after producing the most bauxite to contribute to Jamaica's Gross Domestic Product our people's needs are being ignored.
Access to potable should be a right and we call upon the responsible agencies to deal now with the situation.
The diaspora therefore waits anxiously to hear of our people receiving water.
Concerned constituents
