Dear Editor,
I recently considered switching from Digicel to LIME/Flow since, to my mind, such a combination would lead to a bigger, better company by merging the strengths of each.
Further, the fact that number portability was promised by the Government, this seemed the perfect time to see what the other side had to offer. This proposition intrigued me as I would be able to switch between networks based on who had the better service while retaining the benefit of a phone number which I've had for close to 15 years. You can therefore understand my disappointment when I learnt that for the fifth time there would be a delay in the implementation of number portability and that, if media reports are to be believed, LIME was the source of the delays.
I find all of this very strange, particularly in light of the recent merger. I thought the entire point was to make the new company more efficient and therefore better able to respond quickly to changes in the market. It's clear, however, that this is not the case.
So I ask myself, why swap black dog fi monkey?
