Dear Editor,
Psalm 133: 1 says: "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity." Very, very important indeed. Likewise, I say: How wonderful and heart-warming it would be if there were no racism problem, no colour prejudice, and no discrimination in our world, and people would live in love and unity with each other; or put their lives on the line for love and unity.
Recently, we have seen in the news a white police officer manhandling a black teenage girl during an incident at a community pool. This happened in McKinney, Texas, and it is believed that the incident occurred all because the teenager is black. But, the very good news is that the officer has since resigned, and I am truly happy that he has withdrawn his service.
Racism or colour prejudice is still a big problem in our world and this should not be so. According to Almighty God, we are all equal; search the scriptures for a better understanding.
Any white person who scorns or hate black people does not believe in God. Any black person who scorns or hates white people does not believe in God. If we truly believe in the God who made us all, we wouldn't have time to write off people because of their outward or physical appearance.
It is high time for us to bury the hatchet on colour prejudice and discrimination and season ourselves with love, compassion and respect for one another, and live in love and unity with each other. We are one blood, under the moon and the sun, guided and led by the right hand of God. Let us tear down all the barriers and stumbling blocks that stand in the pathway of humanity.
