From Pryce to Redman? We're going 'green man'

Dear Editor,

Is it only me, or is the situation in St Elizabeth North Eastern becoming increasingly ridiculous?

Who is this Raymond Pryce anyways? Why just about everywhere one turns in social, electronic and print media he is present?

I cannot believe that, with teachers, nurses, and police all dissatisfied with the measly "monkey money" that the Government has offered, and with our children suffering at the hands of monsters, and with another batch of dissatisfied Grade Six Achievement Test students and parents, this is still news.

Worse, it is Comrades cursing and quarrelling that brought us to this point. Peter Phillips has said it: we are at this point because of the type of politics Jamaica has practised since Independence; the politics of clientelism is why we are doing so poorly as an economy.

So the People's National Party (PNP) is really trying to curb the appetites of its own members' request for government handouts. If you ask me, I am being asked through the media to support the very thing the media should be fighting against. The article -- if there has to be one -- should come from the media, not from a PNP source.

Just last week Peter Phillips said there is "no more", now this week the news-promoting people are jeering their MP for telling them the same thing that the finance minister told us. What is the message here? Civil servants must now do the same thing to Peter Phillips and the PNP -- reject them and their offer.

I call on the public sector union leaders to follow the example of the PNP; don't back down, make the noise, take to the streets. Cause just as how the PNP going change "orange man" (Pryce) for Redman, we're going change the whole lot of them for "green man".

If it wasn't so sad and distressing it would be funny.
