I cry for my nation

Dear Editor,

Tears, tears, tears, my heart and soul weep in unquenchable pain and emotional hurt. My humanity is being tested as the heartless and vile around me walk proudly after killing father and child.

Lord where are you? Do you not see? Do you not hear the cry of your people and see the blood of the slain staining the soil?

They that rise up against us are without mercy, lacking humanity and willing to kill, they find pleasure in raping the innocent and murdering the wise and not trying to gain wisdom.

Tears, tears, tears; I cry for my nation. Our politicians fight against each other like hungry wolves seeking to devour all for themselves, putting the blame at the other's feet. Looking votes and quarrelling is what they are about. How can they lead?

My people, why do you look to them for help? Are they not the ones who mow down our children when drunk and still walk free because of their position? Are they not the ones who place guns in our brother's hand for political gain?

When will my people finally awake?
