Dear Editor
After listening to Andrew Holness speaking at the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) rally it is evident to me that this man has no business even thinking of running the country.
To tell Jamaicans that if they want to live they cannot vote for the People's National Party (PNP) makes it clear that Holness is desperate for power at all costs.
Couldn't he address the crowd and tell them what he would do differently should the JLP win? Instead he decided to use fear in order to gain votes. It is a sad day indeed in the history of the JLP, when instead of trying to bridge the divide, the leader helps to create more division. Alexander Bustamante must be rolling in his grave.
Over 1,000 Jamaican lives have been lost since the start of the year to crime and violence, and it is evident that this is not a JLP and PNP issue, but one facing all Jamaicans. As such it will take each and every one of us to fix it.
Holness should be ashamed for uttering those words. If you cared one iota about Jamaica or Jamaicans such words would not have left your lips.
He should step down.
