Dear Editor,
Over the years, from time to time, I have heard some of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) politicians, particularly Audley Shaw and Pearnel Charles, spout their views on the way forward. They cannot convince a single disgruntled People's National Party voter, or a non-committed voter, to vote for the JLP. In my view these two are not doing the JLP any good. Their 'feel-good fodder' is only for party diehards that do not need persuading to vote for the JLP.
To be frank, their brand of politics has outlived it usefulness. The JLP, as I see it, is never strong on discussing issues but strong on throwing words and making promises that they know they cannot keep. The JLP needs to walk away from this brand of politics.
What they need to do is highlight the real issues and be able to persuade uncommitted voters to join the cause of the JLP. Shaw and Charles don't cut it. This is as I see it.
