Look, Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), look! Open your eyes and see the beauty of the coffee.
I really wonder if the JFF is following this news very carefully in regard to the signing of Matthew Olosunde at 17 years old, a product of the New York Red Bulls Academy.
To secure a position of a defender on any international football team is a major achievement of any 17-year-old. Not only any team, but a Premier League giant like Manchester United.
Let’s put things in perspective here. This is a professional side making an investment that is very big, because this is not only about just playing any full back or central defending position, but one has to be a very good reader of the game to be highly rated and placed with this responsibility of being a defender.
The JFF should be looking to nurture this crop of boys from the just-concluded schoolboy Manning and daCosta Cup football season. The talent, the ability need to be invested in and if we don’t make a move now then we are going to lose another crop of football youngsters.
