Juliet Holness, a miracle worker

Dear Editor,

Juliet Holness, the wife of Opposition Leader Andrew Holness, in a recent interview, reportedly said that she can spend $20 and make it look like $20 million dollars. She is a miracle worker. This woman can walk on water and she should also be able to turn water into wine.

Step aside, Audley Shaw, move out of the Ministry of Finance Dr Peter Phillips, we want... no, need, Juliet Holness.

Why isn’t she the governor of the Bank of Jamaica? Can you imagine if she wins, this woman will not be awaiting any “master’s touch”, and all those hungry people in St Andrew East Rural will be fed.

Dr Peter Phillips, if you think that house on Beverley Hills is big just wait. If I lived in that constituency Imani Duncan-Price wouldn’t stand a chance. Duncan-Price once said that when she was attending Harvard one of her professors said that the finance minister to watch is Dr Omar Davies, that guy is doing creative things, and she agreed. Yet they tell us that Harvard is among the top 10 best universities in America.

People are also talking about Juliet and Andrew, not Romeo and Juliet,c reating a family business in politics if she wins. Then how do you explain Dr D K Duncan formerly of Hanover Eastern, Imani running in St Andrew East Rural, and her sister Patricia Duncan-Sutherland reportedly running in Clarendon South Eastern. If ever a a political dynasty...

What is it in our politics that makes successful doctors, lawyers, bankers, millionaires, etc, leave their businesses and get involved? A poor lecturer like Damion Crawford who seems genuinely willing to make a difference is understandable. His plan to have one university graduate in every household seems altruistic, but he shouldn’t have to trick people to accept it. Whatever is pulling these people to politics must be better than sex.
