Dear Editor,
When is an sport utility vehicle (SUV) an armed submarine?
We heard recently of an intrepid agent who drove his SUV into the sea when a police dragnet attempted to pull him over in St Thomas.
Now, what possible motive could someone have for driving a vehicle into the sea? Fishing, perhaps? But that would require a speargun. As effective a weapon as the Israeli-made Uzi submachine gun is, it could not possibly be effective against sea creatures, so that rules out the fishing angle. Could it be a gun salute for the sea creatures? Atlantis is a mythical place said to be under the sea, but I have never heard the St Thomas coast mentioned as a possible location for this famed place.
Not Amused
