I refer to letter by Aaron Spellman in your publication of Thursday, December 31, 2015 and wish to advise him that this is not the first time the People’s National Party has passed International Monetary Fund (IMF) tests.
In the past they said “ta taa” to the IMF and then “run with it”, which put us in a worse position than we were in before, the effects of which we are experiencing now. And so the IMF has to be called in to run the country again.
Minister Richard Azan told us publicly that “it is the IMF running the country...”
They (IMF) destroy the industrial and commercial life of the country which creates employment and generates revenue for the Government. One instance of this is their refusal to provide the relatively small amount of money necessary to have the ‘FINSAC Commission’ report published. It is not unreasonable to conclude that they are afraid the report will reflect poorly on their performance and credibility.
If we allow them, all we can expect is more of the same. Their history is there for all to see.
