I would like to commend Michael Barnett, his team, and the many sponsors of Startime for putting on an awesome show last Saturday, January 9, 2016. Words cannot explain how tremendous the show was.
First, the fact that Tommy Cowan let the show started with prayer, one knows that the show was going to be magnificent. When you put God in anything, you are sure it will be more than what one would even imagine it would be.
Every one of the performers performed excellently; there was not a dull moment. But I would like to pinpoint Dillinger among others. I listened to all the songs he has sung from I was a little girl, and when he came on and performed, it took me way back. He was awesome! Startime needs to bring him back! I personally need to see him on other Startime shows in the future, God willing.
Queen Marcia was magnificent as usual. She could not do no wrong.
Frankie Paul’s set was simply a blessing. He brought on Half Pint, and Half Pint brought on Junior Cat, Super Cat’s brother, and Startime turned upside down! Afterwards, he took us to church! Johnny Clarke ended the show on a high note.
We need to have more Startime shows.
I would also like to take this medium to say RIP to our late legends Dennis Brown, Alton Ellis, Sugar Minott, Gregory Isaacs, John Holt, among others who are not being highlighted enough, and who have given us great music over the years.
