Dear Editor,
For the past few weeks there have been several squabbles in the ruling People’s National Party (PNP). There have been continuing tensions in St Elizabeth North Eastern, Trelawny Northern, and Portland Eastern.
Despite all of these growing tensions in the party, the leader has said nothing.
A week ago some supporters of Raymond Pryce blocked several roads in the constituency venting their anger about his removal. On Monday, several buses of supporters from St Elizabeth North Eastern descended on the PNP’s headquarters demanding that the party reinstate Pryce as their candidate in the upcoming general election.
There have also been growing tensions in Trelawny Northern as Comrades tussle to keep Patrick Atkinson as their candidate and rejected John-Paul White as their candidate. Meanwhile, Andrea Moore and Dr Lynval Bloomfield battle for Portland.
While all this happening in the PNP, the electorate can take comfort in the fact that the Jamaica Labour Party is coming together and is presenting viable and credible alternative to this leaderless and underperforming PNP Government.
