Dear Editor,
I would like to respond to an online article that was published in the Jamaica Observer on January 19, 2016, titled ‘10 -y-o boy’s murder jolts Portland Cottage’.
First, I would like to express my condolence to the family. There are no words that I can possibly find to condemn this type of killing. I do hope and pray that the person/people who is/are involved in the killing will be brought to justice and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The next thing is, after reading some of these online comments, I realised that some people try to make fun of the Most High God, by questioning if He is real, and so forth. God is very much real. We cannot even begin to conceptualise the awesomeness or authenticity of God.
In spite of how contaminated this world is with sin, God told us in His word to choose righteousness. Instead, we chose sin, then we expect Him to immediately fix everything that is broken. He is not a God of “quick fixes”. He does not work in your time or mine. He works in His own time. He will definitely bring an end to all the chaos eventually.
My prayer for the atheists and of the people who do not really know God or have any kind of connection or relationship with Him is that one day He will take them to a place in their lives where they will have no choice but to humbly bow before His throne.
Yes, God is real. He is very much aware of everything that goes on in the world.
