Dear Editor,
Have you noticed that with all the election cycles and all the rhetoric of our political leaders, nothing ever changes? There is debate about campaign financing, chastisement about ‘special interests’ to whom politicians are beholden, but yet, nothing ever changes.
There is what one would term a ‘monstrously huge’ subsurface iceberg that is hidden (as icebergs are), where most of what pulls the real strings of power in our country is unseen. This power is wielded by the invisible beings and corporate entities that have the ears and back-door access to all the visible rulers. These are they to whom the visible rulers are actually held captive, and to whom they are ultimately accountable — not to the people.
Why does nothing ever change? It’s because invisible rulers are just that. Rulers! They are not just influencers. They are rulers. And they have hidden unelected power and positions of dragon-breathed authority behind all the visible rulerships seen by the people — power that is far greater than that of the visible rulers.
In some cases, we know their names. But in most cases, we do not. That is why nothing ever fundamentally changes. It is all about how the total antichrist world system operates.
When searching for the replacement of a national leader, the Prophet Samuel was given to looking at the “outward appearance” of the sons of Jesse for determining who he was to anoint (1 Sam 16: 7). God told him that he had to look beyond the exterior to the interior of men if he was to rightly perceive God’s purpose regarding the power structure.
Our judging by “outward appearance” has to do with what candidates put into their visible party platforms and position speeches. So if the candidate will simply utter the pledges and promises we are looking for, then that is God’s choice for the next leader of the nation.
And what do we get? Same old, same old. For the heart of the candidate has not been examined and is overlooked as of secondary importance. The whole projection of the party leads one to look at outward appearance, on party promises that over and over have never been fulfilled.
But do we want to know what this man/woman is on the interior? Is he/she one of honour or dishonour? How does he/she treat spouse/family? Is he/she faithful to spouse/family? What part does the love of money or power play in his/her ambition? What are the real true thoughts and intents of the hearts of these candidates?
So here we are again in an election season in this nation; the choosing of who will lead the continued national development of this precious land we love. Will it be same old, same old, or will there at last be real change?
If you want to change the character of an iceberg, you have to melt it in its entirety — both below and above the surface. Both the visible and the invisible have to be melted. But you will need some real substrata “global warming”. David had a real vision for globally melting the interior icebergs of the world system: Psalms 97:5.The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. Divine intervention? You bet!
