Dear Editor,
I read recently in a newspaper that the number of swing voters are on the increase, at least for now. I am happy to hear this. I ask just one thing, though, that swinging is done not emotionally, but rationally.
Also, do not swing for handouts, action needs to be taken to see that our social environment enables citizens to develop into independent people. I buy my curry goat when I want it, and have it not just at election time.
No more diehards. Check out the representatives and the respective parties that put them forward to see who they really are — people of integrity, have good ideas that enable them to put forward and develop good policies which will determine how one goes about getting one’s own curry goat or beer when one wishes it most. Not patronising us and giving us ‘gifts’ at the time that it pleases them.
Let ideas about how the nation is to be developed contend and become what determine how one swings. Swing rationally, swing! Swinging is good.
