Dear Editor,
The semantics of the English language was evident over the past three months of campaigning. Some said I will give you progress. Some said I will give you prosperity. Others said I will share a partnership with you all, while another said I will enter into a covenant agreement. I heard promises to do so and so, and others said that I will make a commitment to do ‘x’ and ‘y’.
Belief kills and belief cures. We have been told that a new day is here. We are more mature. Let us put Jamaica first.
I believe that the good Lord has made the voter participation low and the seats count close for us to work together as one Jamaican people.
Talk has been cheap and plentiful. Hugs and kisses and dancing on stages have had their limitations. It is action time. It is reality time. It is credibility time for all our political leaders to demonstrate what they can do.
If we truly love our brothers and sisters, let’s work for a better Jamaica.
