We, the uncommitted, have spoken

Dear Editor,

For the third-straight election the number of voters has fallen. The last election has seen, for the first time, more registered voters did not vote than those who did. This is in addition to many of us who have refused to even bother to register. Let those who have ears, hear!

We the uncommitted are tired of the nonsense that have taken over our country in recent times. We are tired of the “fluffy” inaugural speeches with very little, if anything to show from them. We are sick of the empty promises that have become the norm. We are tired of having to vote for a bad choice and a worse one.

We are tired of having politicians, from both political parties, who call on people to be law-abiding, while they engage in corruption or turn a blind eye to such. The vote-buying which took place during the just-concluded election is a very good example.

We did not vote because we are sick of it. We are tired of politicians taking advantage of armies of unemployed people to advance their own political ambitions. We are sick of politicians doing all they can to maintain garrisons to perpetuate their hold on power. We won’t vote for it!

We are tired of the mediocrity that is trumpeted as great accomplishments. We are fed up with the mismanagement of our country. We will not vote for dinosaurs – whether they are old or young.

We are tired of leaders who preach accountability, but don’t mean what they say. We are tired of living in a veritable banana republic. Enough with the animal farm!

As long as these politicians get into power, that is all they care about. But you know what they say, “Every day bucket go a well, one day the bottom is goin’ drop out!”
