Dear Editor,

The five of us very senior citizens have joined the fix-it, action crew and found solutions for some of the critical problems facing us at this time.

We line up crime, with its antennae in drugs, guns, corruption, and its tentacles in the antiquated, creaking legal system. Crime is the monster that affects everything, and we suggest the police powers who issue daily ‘statistics’ about decline bury their pride and ask America and Cuba for help.

There’s much work to do. Do the first things first and the second things second. The Government must plug the holes and fill the gaps.

With money in hand, jobs under foot, eyes on crime, ears to the ground, we join the young voters and sing (three beats to the bar):

Crawl, walk, run, leap, swim or dive

Dance reggae, rhumba, ska, jump and jive

What we now need to feel alive
