Dear Editor,
As a Jamaican, I eagerly look forward to the day when I will be able receive the best and most reliable telecommunication services available, which is seen as the norm in First World countries.
In Jamaica, we are left with subpar services for which we have to pay an exorbitant price. We have had no other choice but to accept the services that were provided to us, as there have been no other options.
With this in mind, I would like to wholeheartedly welcome Caricel to the telecommunications industry and congratulate the company on being granted a spectrum licence. Caricel will now be the third company in the telecommunications industry. I look forward to receiving 4G LTE service. What makes the change such a refreshing breath of air is that Caricel is a Jamaican-owned company.
Caricel’s service will be rolled out by owners who have gone through the same struggles that we have for many years. I believe that Caricel will know exactly what we really want because they understand us and the market. Advancements in technology have made it possible for Jamaica to receive what the US and other countries boast.
Good luck to Caricel and I hope that your roll-out will be sooner rather than later.
