Dear Editor,
What is really going on? Why do they make it look so difficult? Asking for a change in the false-start rule will create great calamity to track and field?
Millions of people around the world seem to be taking this false-start rule lightly because they are not protesting against it. It is a very unfair rule, that does not allow a second chance.
Every human being should be given a second chance to correct his or her mistake. Not giving an athlete a second chance to run a race, after he jumps the gun on the first go, is like preventing him from having a good breakfast before competing in a race.
Haven’t we seen the sadness, the pain and tears it cost some of the athletes when they are disqualified from a race, because of this big robber? Who feels it knows it.
What sense does it make for athletes to dedicate their time in months of training and hard work with no guarantee if they will participate in an Olympics Games or World Championships? This is absolutely ridiculous. They are denied a second chance. This is total madness; very, very unfair.
