Dear Editor,
The Incorporated Masterbuilders Association of Jamaica congratulates and commends the Government of Jamaica for the preparations it made to mitigate, as much as possible, the potentially disastrous impact Hurricane Matthew would have had on the island.
Special credit goes to Desmond McKenzie, minister of local government and community development, the National Meteorological Service, Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, and the National Works Agency for their sterling work. Credit also to the shelter managers and other volunteers.
The Incorporated Masterbuilders Association of Jamaica is grateful that the hurricane passed us with relatively minor negative effects.
