Dear Editor,
I wish to extend sincere condolence to the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the family of Detective Corporal Warren Campbell from the Organised Crime Investigation Division who was brutally murdered on Thursday night in Patrick City, St Andrew.
From all reports, he was a very hard-working, dedicated and committed member of the police force and was widely respected by his colleagues in Kingston and St Andrew. His murder has robbed the police force of a talented, respected and professional employee.
We all need to support the JCF in this sad and unfortunate time, and when we see police personnel on the street we should offer words of encouragement and let them know that we dearly appreciate their hard work.
Our words of encouragement can go a very long way during their time of grief. The fact is that the vast majority of police personnel are responsible, decent and courageous men and women who put their lives on the line daily to protect and defend us.
I do hope and pray that those who murdered Corporal Campbell will be found, prosecuted and face the full force of the law in the nation's courts. Justice must not only be done, but must undoubtedly and manifestly be seen to be done.
