Dear Editor,
Spanish Town Citizens Against Gun Violence is calling upon the government to make speedy changes to the way crime and violence, and murder in particular, are handled in Jamaica.
A pregnant woman was killed and her sister wounded in St Thomas on September 1, after a policeman fired shots. Where were the policeman's colleagues?
Why the silence upon the land? Where is Minister of National Security Peter Bunting? It is not enough to say you love the people and the poor. It is walking with them, feeling with them and honouring the Jamaican people.
As I write, I should like to know the status of the investigations into the killing of my nephew and his cousin in Spanish Town.
