Dear Editor,
Jamaica belongs to God. What an awesome God we serve. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance (Psalm 30:12).
I was so pleased to have seen and be among the thousands of Jamaicans who came out in Half-Way-Tree last Sunday to make our position known: that God is the God of Jamaica. Eternal Father, bless our land. Guide us with thy mighty hand. Keep us free from evil powers. Be our light through countless hours.
I am so proud to be a Jamaican as I see my people stand up against injustice, standing up against immorality and standing up for what is morally wholesome. As a nation, we need to stand up against the high murder rate, against those who want to pervert our children's minds, and against those who want to blur the differences between genders, and confuse the mind.
Jamaica is a beautiful, God-blessed country, and we want it to remain that way. We must protect ourselves and the next generation. We refuse to allow the devil to mess up our people's minds.
Why should we want to fall into the hands of our enemy? We will stand up and declare that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (St John 3:16).
