Dear Editor,
It is oftentimes said that silence denotes consent. With that said, the church has coalesced as a force to be reckoned with in the ongoing battle between sexual immorality and purity in the nation.
The church has risen to 'silence' the silence with the voices of approximately 25,000 individuals who gathered in Half-Way-Tree on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in support of Jamaica CAUSE (Churches Action Uniting Society for Emancipation).
I am absolutely elated that the church has taken the initiative to unite for such a worthy cause. The group must be commended for its strong advocacy and unwavering persistence to attain respect for laws, values and norms in Jamaica.
Though the LGBT community is trying to stifle the truth by setting out on a quest to superimpose its agenda above that of God's word and principles, the Christian community is adamant that those efforts will be futile.
The church has proven to be an opponent worthy of the challenge, armed with the weapon of truth and clad in the armour of God's power.
Through this venture, they have made a prophetic declaration that "Jamaica belongs to Jesus". God is pleased and will undoubtedly smile down on the 25,000-plus supporters who have opted to stand for righteousness against all odds. Onward Christian soldiers!
