Dear Editor,
I am further disappointed by state minister, Arnaldo Brown's response to the telephone bill scandal. He alleges that the high bills were incurred from data and roaming charges during his 15 overseas assignments whilst carrying out his duties.
While I have no doubt that these charges were genuine, they were at the very least, excessive.
He suggested that, in future, he will put measures in place to ensure a reduction in the cost of these bills. My question to him is, why weren't measures in place before now? Why does it take a public scandal to effect change?
Jamaica is in desperate need of leaders who are proactive and not reactive. Leaders who are cognisant of the impact of their actions. Brown's actions and response leave much to be desired.
