Dear Editor,
At the time of writing, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) had not yet indicated the composition of, or terms of reference for, the promised task force to investigate the issues surrounding the recent abandonment of the Indian tour.
In anticipation of an early announcement, please allow me to suggest to the eventual task force appointees that the following questions be directed to Dwayne Bravo:
1) Were the player contracts governing your current Twenty20 tournament in South Africa offered to you before the withdrawal or threat of withdrawal by the players from the Indian tour?
2) If they were not offered before, when did you and/or your group first have discussions with the South African tournament organisers about participation in the "Ram Slam" tournament currently underway?
3) When were the applications for your player work permits for the current tournament made to the South African Department of Labour, and by whom?
4) Did you seek assurances from the Indian Premier League or its representatives that players would not be barred from participation in their future tournaments before the mass withdrawal from the Indian tour?
I would also further respectfully suggest that Cricket South Africa and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) be asked by the task force to provide corroborative input for the answers provided to the above questions.
