Dear Editor,
I don't see what the big kerfuffle is regarding what Michael O'Hara did at Champs. Are we so caught up in our own sense of righteousness that we fail to see that this young man is indeed an "extraordinary" person?
Digicel may have been out of line as it relates to branding rights and so on but, legal manoeuvrings aside, let us look at the bigger picture here. This young man was been signed by the same company that signed Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and we don't need to itemise their achievements since then.
Furthermore, he admitted that it was his idea, so I would like to hear what people have to say about it now. He is talented and he wants to associate himself with an organisation that will help to develop his career.
Sports is about entertainment and fun, hence I don't see how his action diminished the jovial atmosphere of the event. If anything, it actually added to an already exciting Champs, and I for one am definitely looking forward to seeing more athletes enjoying themselves while doing what they love to do.
This is not about LIME or Digicel, this is about the athletes and their development.
