Dear Editor,
“Man's feelings are always purest and most glowing in the hour of meeting and of farewell.”
Generation 2000 (G2K) continues to provide an invaluable service to Jamaica and to the Jamaica Labour Party. We have been instrumental in our contributions to nation building, policy development, the political process, and social and community development. This is deeply strengthened by individuals who have, in their own right, dedicated their time, effort and resources to the cause. One individual who exemplifies this statement is immediate past president of G2K, Delano Seiveright.
The effort, time and dedication that Delano has offered to the organisation cannot be quantified. He was always there as a leader. He was always there as a friend.
During his tenure, Delano touched the lives of several Jamaicans politically, socially and otherwise. He faced the critics and sacrificed likeability for the interest of Generation 2000, the Jamaica Labour Party and Jamaica. And for that, Delano will always be remembered. His actions as president have taught us to lend ourselves to causes that uplift humanity in our various communities, thus embracing our mantra “more than just politics”.
We at the St Thomas Chapter wish to thank Delano for the time that he has spent with our group. We say farewell and wish him good luck and prosperity in all his endeavours.
