Dear Editor,
We are hearing a lot of arguments these days about the repealing the buggery law and same-sex marriage, but we as Jamaicans do not welcome any such moves in this land. I am kindly asking them to forget about it once and for all.
Furthermore, Almighty God does not condone this wretched and ungodly practice in these perilious times. Why do we want to play with fire in Jamaica? The fires of crime, violence and death are already raging around us, and these fires seem to be out of control. If we open our doors to the pleading voice of same-sex marriage or to remove that buggery law, there will certainly be more deaths, violence and mayhem in this crime-polluted country.
We should not waste our precious time and energy thinking about same-sex marriage or buggery law; instead, we should try to fix our problems which are getting more challenging as the days go by.
Some of us are saying that people have a right to choose the kind of life they want to live, but no one has a right to that type of lifestyle.
All those who are taking this matter lightly, or backing it, need to examine themselves deeply and think again.
Not even a trace of it should ever come near or across our region.
