Dear Editor,

It appears as if Audley Shaw's islandwide consultations regarding his bid for leadership of the JLP illustrates dialogue and peaceful audience with supporters. On the other hand the approach being taken by the Andrew Holness camp is reminiscent of the old-time style of politics of intimidation, clearly calculated to hijack genuine democracy in the party.

Mr Holness seems to be all over the place, while his key team leaders Babsy Grange, Andrew Wheatley, Everald Warmington, and Rosie Hamilton are championing a shutdown of democracy via a strategy of condemnation of Mr Shaw and his supporters. Is Mr Holness really the reincarnation of the "One Don"? If that is so, we must take action now.

The truth is, Holness is now appearing two-faced and must declare once and for all where he stands and show true leadership by calling on his team leaders to embrace democracy. If he can't do this it will only reconfirm to many that he is no leader.

One would have thought that the young man would have acted differently.

We need a debate of ideas and plans.
