Dear Editor,
If one is able to read this letter, thank a teacher. The civil service has been undervalued for far too long. While politicians are busy building dream homes and travelling all over the place, civil servants can't afford to survive. The civil servants must be given some priority if we want to see our country prosper. Why should teachers nurses and police suffer while we pay exorbitant salaries to politicians?
Moral leadership involves prioritising other people's need. We must pay our civil servants proper wages. The country's affairs have been mismanaged and we are reaping the bitter medicine.
The ruling People's National Party is postponing the local government elections because people are disgruntled but when election time comes around the so-called poor 'just eat a food'; well, the food running out.
If these politicians love the poor so much, why not take a base pay and give back to the civil service.
