Portia starring in her own series

Dear Editor,

There used to be a successful television series named Touched by an Angel starring Roma Downey, Della Reese and John Dye. Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller might be starring in her own series Touched by my Master.

Is there any other country on the face of the planet whose political leader is awaiting the touch of God to call an election? What did we do to deserve this?

This is the main reason we need a fixed election date.

What if the Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn had waited for divine intervention or her "master's touch" to decide to bring criminal charges against former Lucea Mayor Shernet Haughton? What if Dr Alfred Dawes had waited on the Master's touch to blow the whistle on the sickening state of the public hospitals? Would we be mourning only 19 premature babies' death?

But seriously, the prime minister isn't to be blamed for not calling the election, God is. Why didn't he reach down and touch her? Well, it isn't too late; it is Christmas, and it is the time for miracles.
