All this strife, destruction, war and violence is not a call for us to be scared or fearful. It is a call for us to take action and manifest who this world truly belongs to. We, men — prime ministers, presidents, and leaders — seem to have all forgotten to whom the world actually belongs.
We have forgotten who created us to be in this world. We have forgotten who has allowed us to overcome disasters and trials to be alive and to be where we are right now. We have forgotten who has given us breath to wake each morning. God desires for us to remember and recognise that it is He.
He has given me this message. I write not to predict doom or gloom. I stand obedient, urging us to resolve to give God what belongs to Him for this upcoming year. It is because of Him that we can simply breathe. We need to be reminded of that and give Him the honour. That is all God desires. He allows us to be glorified – to achieve success, to become the first black president, to be a “double/triple” world record holder, to achieve world recognition. Yet we often forget to recognise the One who allowed us to achieve the recognition in the first place.
As God was preparing to deliver the Israelites from Egypt, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened so that wonders could be performed, just so that the people would know and recognise Him as God. As Jesus stood before the fulfillment of His glory, his prayer was: “Father, glorify me that I may glorify You in heaven.” Jesus knew that in all things our Father in heaven must be recognised, not only while we are being crucified, but also while we are being glorified.
Let us not only recognise Him in gloom. We need to give God what is His, lest strife, destruction, war and violence will only worsen. Glory belongs to God. We are being called to remember that. Let us take heed and realise that this 2016 grace many of us will receive is not about winning elections or achieving success or worldwide recognition for ourselves, but rather to give glory to the One who allowed us to achieve. Let us give to God what belongs to Him. This is what He desires.
Believe me, this is a minute token considering all He has given us. Let 2016 be a year of giving God the glory.
