Dear Editor,
The People’s National Party just celebrated their fourth year in office. For many Jamaicans like myself, we are not impressed with the People’s National Party’s (PNP) governance style. They have failed us in numerous ways. They have promised so much and have fulfilled not one of their promises.
The PNP’s poor style of managing the country’s affairs and their self-serving attitude is enough for the citizens of Jamaica.
It is quite evident that the PNP has done little or nothing to take the country from poverty to prosperity. While it has done an excellent job of passing the International Monetary Fund tests, it is more depressing to be failing the people’s test.
Since the PNP took office four years ago, the cost of living has gone up way too high, passport fees have increased, crime rates gone up, more bad roads, the dollar sliding rapidly, the health care system is in a deplorable condition, more taxes, education sector in a bad state, and poverty has increased. Clear indications of bad governance.
While the Jamaica Labour Party wasn’t perfect in their years in office, they achieved a lot and they did quite well. They controlled the dollar, they improved the health care and education systems, they curbed the crime rate, and they decreased poverty. Are the citizens of Jamaica better off now than four years ago? No! Are the citizens of Jamaica more secure now than four years ago? No!
