This isn’t a game of ‘last lick’, PM

Dear Editor,

The decision by the governing People’s National Party (PNP) to stay away from the national debates is highly petty and borders on Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller behaving like a spoiled child. Simpson Miller isn’t behaving like the leader of the Caribbean’s most recognised country, but like a little girl who did not get her way in a game of “last lick”.

For her to refer to the Opposition leader as a “con man” and then be upset when he returns the favour has further caused Jamaicans to question her decision-making and leadership abilities. Her posture is not amusing, and well-thinking Jamaicans have even further lost respect for her.

In fact, this is so untenable that the PNP ought to start looking for a new president.

Further, what does Holness’s house have to do with the economy? What does it have to do with the price of bread? Are you at a loss for ideas, PM Simpson Miller?

Jamaicans are sick of your nonsense, and anyone who comes out in your defence ought to be charged for treason. Your actions are embarrassing and shameful, not to mention disrespectful. The prime minister needs to come to terms with the seriousness of her role. Jamaica deserves better, especially her beloved “poor people”.
