Dear Editor,
I would like to use this medium to say a big thank you to one Ms Sasha Harris from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) office at Heroes Circle.
I don’t know if anyone has ever had to call this ministry, but let me tell you, it would be easier to call a stranger and beg and get money than getting through to the MLSS.
I submitted an old age pension application for a former employee from February 2015 and have been calling the ministry from December last year.
Each week I would call at least four times, but would get through maybe once.
On Wednesday this week, I called and decided to select a totally different department. Low and behold, Ms Harris answered the phone. I told her that I know I am at the wrong department; however, I had been calling the ministry for ages and was not able to get through to the department that I wanted (pension section).
She took my name and number, all the necessary information, and promised to call me, and she did!
She did check the information for me and I had more questions, and she again promised to call.
Today, Thursday, May 26, 2016, about 9:30 am, Ms Harris called again. My God! I am deeply touched that she took the time to check on my matter. Mind you, this is not her department, but she checked on the status of the pension book and let me know that it has been mailed out and the person can expect to hear from the post office anytime soon.
Big up, Ms Sasha Harris. Now, if only other Government employees could be so kind to at least answer the phones.
